Do I have Psoriasis?

Hi everyone, I hope you're all doing well. Lately, I've been encountering some health issues and I would really appreciate some input. I've noticed these sore, itchy, red patches on the side of my hip and lower back. I'm suspecting that it might be psoriasis. I've done a bit of reading and the symptoms seem to match up but I'd love to hear from others who might have experienced the same thing.

To give some background, about a week ago, I had a bout of severe stress over a personal issue. Could this be a trigger for psoriasis? I've read that stress can sometimes set it off, but I wasn't sure to what extent this is true. Also, I've been experiencing an aching sensation in my hip - is this linked to psoriasis in any way? I'm guessing that if psoriasis has something to do with nerves, then it may be possible.

Another thing that has been bothering me are these dark purple blobs that have started to appear. I've tried using creams but even the act of applying them brings about a lot of pain initially. If anyone has had a similar experience or has some knowledge about this, your help would be greatly appreciated. I really need to do something about it because the discomfort is intense. Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Hey, sorry to hear about your situation. I'm not a doctor but I've had psoriasis for a few years now. Stress can indeed trigger flare-ups. As for the hip pain, it could be psoriasis arthritis. I'd suggest seeing a doctor for a proper diagnosis though.

You should definitely see a healthcare professional. The dark purple spots you mentioned could indicate something else. Don't rely on self-diagnosis.

Sorry to hear about your situation, Mathew. Just a note on the creams - they can sting at first but usually, this subsides. Maybe trying a different type might help? But definitely check with a medical professional first.  :-*
